I perfer parallel(it said series but parallel is the real way) better than anything else, it works great and is reliable. Also llamma can you add on how to install those blue LEDs with pictures in the 360 controller, I have ideas but i would like to see how you did it. Thanks

SMT LED size

Postby patterr » Wed Nov 09, 2005 1:02 pm

Are the Surface mount (SMT) LEDs 0604 or 0402 sizes? Does anyone have a link to the unusual colors for SMT LEDs (pink, purple)

Thanks

I found this while searching for some pink LEDs. I don't know German, but in case someone else does:

But seriously, they have to be out there somewhere with an english speaking site.

Also, what do you guys use to solder SMDs? I have a radioshack 15 watt iron, but I was thinking I'd have to upgrade to a better iron before I could start doing these.

Hi,

I new to modding and I want to mod my x box 360's looks, and anyone help me with some detailed instructions on how to change LEDs, Add Lights to the inside of the system and cut away the casing and replace it with a clear material... also can someone tell me what to use for paint and the clear material and anyother things I may need.. thanks

According to the LED Lighting Xbox 360 controller turorial, you must be able to solder the wires to somewhere, at least, you can't read it there but the last pic shows you that you must twist the wires together.
Another thing, please post/suggest what the best way it is to solder the LED-lights (single/series/parallel)
On this page http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/mods/xbox%20360%20Controller%20LED%20Mod.htm#lighting%20the%20abxy%20buttons, I miss a few pics of where to solder those wires and how to avoid hitting any contact points. Could the Llamma team please post the (2) missing pics on completing the soldering for your X360 controller buttons?

I was reading the tutorial a few times before I found this out. Lucky for me I didn't start the project yet, since I don't have the required items (yet).
btw, nicely done :) I am gonna enjoy this for sure!

Very few people look in here unless they are giving feedback on the article itself.

There is a user friendly LED thread HEREclicky clicky .. If you still don't get it after reading that, post on the end of the thread or make a new one and somebody will come along and help..
