Now, the original post:
ok, after being very interactive within this forum, i have learned alot about the whole Modding idea. Now I am planning on doing my own mod, but hope I'm taking the the right way.

For painting, I am going to have either a guy who can airbrush (like the ones at the mall who airbrush onto shirts) or have it done profesionally by a guy who does vehicles ($$$). I really like halo, so I came up with this design. Anyway, the window is incorporated in the paint, so i don't know if I should cut it before or after I get it painted.

This was a quick sketch i did, then colored in Paint Shop Pro.

Image

That is my plan for the window part of my 360, then the rest would be like, a collage of Master Chief/Halo stuff.

Anyway, the interior will be lit Orange with Cold Cathodes, which will be connected to the fans, but I still don't know exactly where you're supposed to connect them.

That's all at first, except for maybe switching the fans to solve the heating problem

Anyway, What do you guys think of this Idea? (will post updates)

Though your paint skills are lacking, they're probably better than mine. I actually made out the Master Chief's head in that case mod and think it will look cool. You should have someone do the faceplate with a scene from blood gulch or something. Post a pic when it's done.

I'd say cut the window before you bring the shell to airbrush guy and have the design penciled out or printed on 8" x 11" cardstock. Make sure the dude that does it knows what Master Chief looks like too.

MAACO will do it. Atleast down here is GA they painted a set of rims for me so I could sell them. They are fairly cheap. They did all my rims for $100 so an xbox with less parts would probably be fairly cheap

lol there is a reason maaco is cheap their paint and clear coat are crap. very low grade.

you should stick your collage(spelling) of halo stuff on and then do what they use to do on cars back in the day, slap i thick coat of laquer finish on there.

Well, right now, I'm only finding one customs place in my area (its a chopper shop), but I know there is a place that is Strictly paint. Anyway, you know those people who airbrushonto shirts? Do you think that would be good if I coated the plastic with like.....2 coats of primer or something?

Ok, i have everything that I need ordered.

I am going to have it primed by thursday, and cut by thursday-ish

Is this window idea (because the window isn't tooo big) a good idea?
or should I just cut a full window?

Since it's not a regular clear window, it will be unique. The window will also add a bit of realism to the design. Just remember to post pics when it's all done.

Drawn on the 360 (I'm painting it anyway)

There is the window, even though it keeps smudging

The fans and the thing from the back

Image
The cathodes and crap

I got multi-LED fans, but because i couldn't get sudible replacements for the LEDs, and since I think it looks pretty good anyway, it only has the red and Orange

but hey, not bad, right?

If you want a suggest for EASILY making a perfect outline for cutting out that window exactly as the picture you found, print out the image of Master chief to the size you want, take a pencil and shade over the entire outline of the visor on the BACK BLANK side of the picture, now if you tape the picture onto the 360 panel and than trace the outline of the visor, it will cause the graphite of the pencil shading on the back of the picture to Xfer to the 360 for a perfect outline. can even do that outline for whole head for painting scheme
