controller D-Pad resistance mod

Postby killakicks » Tue Sep 29, 2009 6:42 pm

This is a tutorial on how to mod the D-Pad on an xbox controller. I had a shaky D-Pad for a little while and got annoyed with it so I lookede up some video's and tutorials and couldnt find an easy fix so I asked my dad for some help he suggested putting a spring on the bottom of the controller to make it more resistant and more responsive so..with a little help from my dad I fixed it. So maybe someone else is having this problem so decided to make a tutorial:].
What you'll need:
T8 with security bit{wireless}
_______________________________________________________________
UNLESS YOU CANNOT FIND T8 WITH SECURITY HOLE: T8 WITH FLAT HEAD THAT CAN FIT IN THE XBO CONTROLLERS HOLE
_______________________________________________________________
A spring
cloth that is not important
wirecutters or anything that can cut metal {scissor are fine}

Step 1: Open up your controller
Go do it ..look up another tutorial for that theres plenty

Step 2:
cut the spring depending on how much resistance you want i cut mine to about half an inch

Step 3:
take off that rubber thing {what she said} place the spring in the middle of the D-Pad ..over the horn

Step 4:
place that rubber thing on again over the spring{what she said}

STEP 6:
