Np, you just made it better. :D Just wondering if anyone had any better reflow results by doing this.

Well, You'd have thought so now there will be even temperatures.

@ FJK,

Ordered the Thermocouples and digital thermometer from Carston...he upgraded it for N/C to the new model that I saw 'after' I hit the buy it now button

Just received the Aluminum Tape and Kapton Tape for securing the K-Type thermocouples this afternoon.

Will do a reflow based on the Aoyue response noting the stepping up on the preheater and lower temp on the Chip (75% vs. 25% heat). I will post a reply with any relevant pics for everyone after I have gotten the equipment and performed the reflow based on the above suggestions.

Check back in about 1 week as I will be out traveling to Seattle most all of next week and won't have time to mess with anything...including repairs :)

Ok, maybe I worded that wrong. Did anybody do a before and after test on a piece of paper like I think Gamestationoh did to see if now the paper browns evenly after centering the element?

Thanks FJK. I haven't even used mine yet, but I took a look and did the "bread test" and sure enough, it needed adjusting.

I found that you don't need to disconnect that cable or pull off the outer metal casing, you can just move the grey tube around that contains the other wires to align the filament, then stick a chunk of blu-tack in there to stop it from moving about in future. :D

I can't manage to get it to burn evenly even though visualy it looks like it's centered, no matter how much I try it seems to be off by some mm in one direction... Have you all managed to get it centered?

Mine still looks centred from when I did the tut.
I don't test mine, maybe I should.
