You are going to have problems with that. In order to make an adapter for VGA to S-Video you will need a chip with a VGA decoder and S-Video encoder. The reason for this is by how each one works. A TV receives a signal in a x-y coordinate way. The computer (or Xbox, any video encoder) is going to send a Red, Green, and Blue signal simultaneously through different wires. The Red wire is going to send a signal that tells the red value of pixel (1,1), then send another signal for Red pixel (1,2) and so on. At the same time Blue and Green are getting these signals. There is also a fourth strand that sends a sync signal that make sure everything stays aligned. In a composite set up all of these (RGB) are all send in one signal along with brightness to form a complex wave function. I hope this expains the incompatibilities.

I know you want to "make this yourself" but sometimes thats just stupes, you can get one on ebay for 5 bucks shipped, just buy one. You may have mad electronics skills, but if your askin for help this is the best advice I can give. Good luck.

If your heart is set on doing it yourself, just buy one for 5 bucks (I even saw one for 99 cents) take it apart and connect yours so it looks like the pre made one.

Those cables do next to nothing. Refer to this thread...the concept is the same, even if its for a Mac...

There is no real way to hook that up. You need hardware to transcode the video signal for practical use. I have never seen just wires being hooked up in a certain way to convert VGA to video or composite or component or vice versa.
