ok like i said in the tut, it is a tough soldering job and not for people that are not used to soldering for a while.

here is what i did.

-i melted solder onto the tips of the wire and let them all dry
-then i placed the wire onto the point i wanted to solder to and put the iron on it for a second so that the solder got melted again
-as soon as the solder had re melted i took the iron of and held the wire very still untill the solder had dried again
- i did this 4 all seve wires
-once u are done i would recomend sliding like a creditcard between all of the points to make sure none are bridged and if they are simply de solder them and try again

remember this is time consuming and not 4 the impatient

I havent really shown much intrest in this topic, but I would like to ask are there any atvantages in doing this?

I could understand a standerd HDD but the one it has, has a nice little place for it to lock in place.

Did you just like the look of it better not being on the outside?

well i have a clear case and the hdd being in a gray box on the top looked out of place. i think i will move it from where it is to between the dvd drive and the metal cage because i plan on changing my xbox up a bit. i also like a challange and i have not seen it done much or seen any tutorials so i decided to take it upon my self to do it.
