Bumped off a SMD Resistor i need the value

Postby Astennu » Mon Oct 26, 2009 7:09 am

Hello,

I was tying to solve my RROD problem. But i had a accident with a screw driver. And i bumped off a SMD Resistor (Its the R3P3 Risistor) Its right above the the gpu. If you have the X clip its just above the uppr right mounting screw of the clip)

But do you guy's have a datasheet with the value's ? Or do you know the value of the resistor ?

The Console is not working anymore. I'm getting a permanent RROD after that resistor. For the rest there was no damage.

Thanks in advance.

where did it move to?

WTF is an xclip?

Can you take a pic of what you broke?

Its most likely the same thing as the one next to it...lol

Even the broken off one should have SoMeThInG written on it, most likely the capacitance in uF and max voltage..... they can be ordered from abotu a thousand online semiconductor dealers online, I bet if you stick whatever number is on the side of the thing you broke off into google, you will get at least 12324234234 234324 X 10^23 hits.....

PIC PIC PIC PIC Please...

An x-clamp.
There is no such thing as 'permanent'!

No its way to small. And it broke in peaces. Could not find a lot of it back.

It could be the same value but it can also be totally different. They all look alike. There a a lot of those black resistors on the board. So there is a big chance they have other value's.

It looks like this:

Look at C7t98 that size only then black like R6T3. At the bottem center.

If you wanna wait 5 or 6 weeks, I can desolder one for you and send it to you. I have a bunch of junk boards.

What model motherboard is it anyway? I could not even find those locations on the one I looked at....

I will try to upload a picture tonight. Its a older model board. I think the oldest with both 90nm gpu and CPU. I would be nice if you can send me one or tell me the value. Then i will go buy a resistor with that value.

That would be so useful for traces and stuff. Another thing I need to buy...

Nice ! Did you desolder it from a board ?

I will try to solder on a 1k resistor :)

there is no need to remove it from the board to measure it.
